There have been situations where if I am working with a difficult co-worker and I sense any kind of tension,I was never afraid to go to my manager! Shes the one after all that I needed to report too most of the time!
I focus more on my tasks and what I need to do right instead of going to work and having an argument
with anyone or being looked at like Im trouble when in fact I know I am not..I do not engage in workplace gossip either! I do not listen to anyone on
my team if I know they arent my mentor/trainer or my manager. If my co-worker I know doesnt have any authority to
instruct me and hasnt done my job before,I wouldnt listen to such a person even if I know she or he
may not like me,they clearly are not the manager! I always believed in Work-Life-Balance yes but my first intention when Id go to a traditional job everyday wasnt to make friends, but to do my job properly!
Yes I tried my best to be friendly but with a 10 hour a day shift, and even 8 hours a day I was there to do my tasks/job and not make new friends first no!
Another reason why sometimes it can get very difficult to have work relationships with everyone in the company, sometimes its impossible! The bigger the company you work for the more personalities we
meet with any new career that we start even with a Freelance role! In any workplace there’s times you wont be the best of friends especially in an office role, and when youre not working alone!
Everyone wants to be around positive energy,at all times with no issues! Realistically that doesnt happen, but theres always a time when you get a bad day at work,I dont always get positive funny days no!
Try having balance in job duties, where half of the day you can be at the desk working, and the other half of your shift go out in the field, even if it means driving around to get to a customer,or run an errand for yourself! In my experience
this was the best role I have ever had until the company downsized twice! This is a very difficult job to find but when you are a Freelance person than its quite possible to have!
